European Museum Forum has conducted plenty of things in this year. That of course included its annual conference along with the award giving. For those who have never attended European Museum Forum Conference, they may be wondering what they could expect from such meeting. Let’s take a glimpse of it below:
Day 1
European Museum Conference was held for three days. The first day of the conference was on May 9th, 2018. There were a couple of agendas happening on this day. The first day the conference was held at “POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews”.
The first day of the conference was started around midday. It was started with registration for all the participants. Soon after the registration, the participants of the conference were having great organized tours to explore the museum’s contemporary and modern exhibitions. Then at night, around 7 pm, the participants had reception with some welcome speeches held in Warsaw Rising Museum.
Day 2
Moving on to day to, the conference got a little bit busier and more packed. This second day was on May 10th, 2018. The conference was started at 9 with an Opening of the EMYA 2018. Then at 09.20 รป 10.15, the agenda of the conference was some presentations from EMYA previous winners. The EMYA winners invited to speak at this time were the EMYA winners of 2013 and 2014. Those award winners talked about the role of museum in human society.
After that, the conference came to the presentation of the award nominees. At this time, the award nominees were given time to present their museum so that they could be deemed eligible for the award. Then at 18.30, the buses of the participants were leaving for The Museum of Royal Tazienki. The second day of the conference was ended at 19.00 with a reception at The Royal Tazienki Museum.
Day 3
On the day 3, participants had Keynote Address from the Board Member of EMF and the presentation of the award nominees. The activities on this third day were held in two different places, The first agendas were held at POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews while the last agendas of this third day were held at the National Museum in Warsaw.
Day 4
Finally, the conference came to the lay day. On this day, there were final speeches and also handing out certificates for all the participants. Then in the evening, there was Award Ceremony which was held at POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
